Guding Good Choices is an evidence-based 5-session program for parents with children ages 9-14. The program is a multimedia family-competency training program specifically designed to strengthen parents' family management skills, parent-child bonding, and children's peer-resistance skills. In five weeks, parents will increase proactive family communications, reduce negative family interaction, improve their relationship quality between parent and child, reduce rates of early substance use and start to decrease alcohol-related problems, cigarette use, and other drug use.
Most sessions are parent-focused, though children attend one session, focused on peer pressure. This program will be held via Zoom.
ATOD Prevention is coordinated by Child Guidance Resource Centers and funded by the Delaware County Department of Human Services, Office of Drug and Alcohol. If you would like to register for the class or more information on CGRC's Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention program, please contact us at info@cgrc.org.
