2025-2026 Trauma-Sensitive Parenting Series

You Are Not Alone.

Nearly 50% of children experience trauma often due to challenging family circumstances, traumatic losses, bullying, and an increase in community and school violence. Trauma affects a child’s behavior and ability to learn.

CGRC offers monthly education and support sessions for parents and caregivers of children impacted by trauma. Each session explores a trauma-related topic—such as strengthening attachment bonds, fostering resilience, reducing traumatic stress, or building emotional regulation skills for children, youth, and caregivers.

Sessions include:

  • Psychoeducation on the monthly topic

  • Opportunities to share challenges, strategies, and mutual support with other caregivers

  • Practical takeaways, with each caregiver choosing a strategy to focus on in the month ahead

  • Encouragement and renewal, closing with a mindfulness practice and affirmations to support parents and caregivers in their journey

Sessions are held on the first Wednesday of each month and repeated on the first Thursday, making it easy to attend.

Cost: Free

This series is made possible through a generous grant by the offices of Pennsylvania Senators Amanda M. Cappelletti, Carolyn Comitta, John Kane, Tim Kearney, & Katie Muth. Sessions are intended to provide education, resources, and opportunities for mutual support. The content is not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you, your child, or your family need clinical support, please visit CGRC.org for information about programs and services.
