Supportive Housing Aging In Place (SHAIP)
SHAIP provides supportive housing for older adults (55+) in Delaware County, offering care for individuals with complex medical, mental health, and cognitive challenges. This program ensures residents receive the support they need to maintain independence while addressing their unique needs.
SHAIP: Specialized Support for Older Adults with Complex Needs
The SHAIP (Specialized Housing for Adults with Intensive Needs Program) serves adults (55 and over) who may have complex medical, cognitive, and mental health challenges. This includes adults who are medically fragile, living with mental illness, managing co-occurring substance use disorders, or living with intellectual disabilities. While SHAIP residents do not meet the criteria for nursing home care, they require specialized, consistent support to live safely and comfortably.
SHAIP provides a stable, supportive community tailored to the unique needs of each resident. The program bridges the gap between independent living and more intensive care, offering assistance with daily living activities, medical management, and mental health services.
At SHAIP, our goal is to help residents thrive—supporting their well-being, preserving their dignity, and fostering as much independence as possible in a safe, compassionate environment.
