Child Guidance Resource Centers Hosts Bridging the Gap: Better Health for Every Neighbor
In its 2nd Year, This Event Is a Community Conversation on Access, Equity, and Wellness
Child Guidance Resource Centers (CGRC) is hosting a free community event, Bridging the Gap: Better Health for Every Neighbor. Bridging the Gap is an event focused on addressing the need for increased access and affordability in healthcare. This is the second year CGRC has hosted this event and is a crucial element of its advocacy for the need of its clients to receive mental and behavioral services.
The Need for This Conversation
Rising health insurance costs, the potential expiration of ACA subsidies, and increasing provider strain are forcing many individuals and families to delay care, lose coverage, or take on medical debt. These pressures disproportionately affect vulnerable and underserved populations, deepening health disparities and eroding trust in an already complex healthcare system.
Access to healthcare is a fundamental human right. Yet for too many neighbors, barriers such as affordability, availability, and lack of culturally responsive care stand in the way of receiving timely and effective services. When equitable access to healthcare is out of reach, disparities widen—impacting not only individual health outcomes, but also the strength and stability of families, communities, and local economies.
“Our goal with Bridging the Gap: Better Health for Every Neighbor is to meet the community where they are. We believe that healthy, especially mentally strong, communities depend on every family having access to quality care,” said Lisa Roberts Cadorette, CEO and president of Child Guidance Resource Centers. “By bringing together healthcare providers, policymakers, and community resources with the people we all serve, we hope to share practical information, amplify diverse perspectives, and empower individuals and families with tools to support healthier lives.”
