Guiding Good Choices, delaware County

Child Guidance’s ATOD programs equip youth, families, and schools with tools to prevent substance use before it starts. Through school-based education, parent engagement, and peer leadership, we empower communities to thrive drug-free. We invite you to join our Guiding Good Choices program starting on August 7.

GGC is an evidence-based 5 session program for parents with children 9-14. it is designed to strengthen parents’ family management skills, parent-child bonding and children’s peer resistance skills.

In five weeks, families will:

• Increase of proactive family communication

• Reduction of negative family interaction

• Improvement of observable relationship quality between parent and child

• Reduced rates of early substance use

• Decrease alcohol-related problems, cigarette use, and other drug use.

The ATOD Program for Delaware County is coordinated by Child Guidance Resource Centers and funded by the Delaware County Office of Behavioral Health, Drug and Alcohol Division.
