Girls Spark
This one-hour workshop will equip parents and caregivers with trauma-informed communication strategies to foster safe, supportive, and trusting relationships with the 11–18-year-old girls in their lives. Understanding how trauma, whether big or small, impacts adolescent girls' emotions and behaviors is key to effective communication. Parents and caregivers will learn how to recognize trauma responses, respond with empathy, and create a home environment that promotes healing, connection, and resilience. The workshop will provide a safe space for discussion and include interactive activities and practical strategies.
Delaware County Suicide Prevention/Awareness 5K Walk Run
CGRC is a proud sponsor of the Delaware County Suicide Prevention 5K Run/Walk.
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, the Delaware County Suicide Prevention and Awareness Task Force will be hosting the 20th Annual 5K Walk/Run at Ridley Creek State Park in Media, PA. This event is held to promote suicide prevention and awareness as well as to recognize May as National Children’s Mental Health Month.
There is an average of nearly 74 completed suicides every year here in Delaware County. In 2023, that number increased to 77 completed suicides. Studies indicate that between six and eight individuals are left seriously bereaved by each of these deaths.
