Helping students overcome challenges and reach their potential.
When students face challenges in school, accessing the right support can feel overwhelming. That’s where Child Guidance comes in. Our services, including in-school therapy, truancy prevention programs, a licensed private elementary school, and extended school year support, are designed to foster student well-being, enhance engagement, and promote success. No matter where the journey leads, we’re here to support students every step of the way.
School Support Services:
-
Elementary School
Child Guidance offers a licensed, private Special Education School for children in grades K-8 who are struggling in their public school classroom. Our school is a structured academic environment with a strong emphasis on social, emotional, and behavioral development.
-
Extended School Year
Our Emotional Support Extended School Year (ESY) program is intended for students entering 1st through 8th grade. We focus on maintaining Social Emotional Learning Skills and Academics outlined in each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). The 2025 session begins on Tuesday, June 17th and is operational through Thursday, July 17th. Students attend the program Monday through Thursday 8:30am to 12pm.

School District Mental Health & Wellness Services
Integrating mental healthcare within school and other community services leads to powerful outcomes. We offer school-based outpatient services within a variety of school districts. Our therapists work with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to provide mental health support and increase the understanding of students and families needs so they can thrive in school and at home.

Truancy and Delinquency Partnership
Regular attendance in school is an important factor in your child's achievement and success. We know that truancy is often a symptom of stress and need in that student's life. Our Truancy and Delinquency Prevention Partnership helps families develop the tools and resources for their students to return to school and reach their potential.

Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention Programs (ATOD)
Child Guidance provides ATOD prevention programming for both Delaware and Montgomery Counties. We provide free family services, community activities, and general education.
